Applying for a place
Please see the below information from Hampshire Admissions regarding applying for a September 2027 Year R place.
Year R admissions portal opens on 1 November 2026
Include three school preferences on the application to maximise the likelihood of receiving an offer at one of your preferred schools.
- Ensure applications are submitted by the closing date of 15 January 2027.
Use the County Council’s school catchment area finder to identify the catchment school for your home address.
- Read the school’s admission policies to understand how places are allocated and the criteria that apply where a school is oversubscribed.
Think about how your child will get to school. See travel to school to help plan your journey and find out if you are eligible for help with transport. You must name your catchment school(s) if you have one, as a preference if you wish to apply for travel assistance.

In-year transfers
If your child is currently in Year R, Year 1 or Year 2 and you are considering applying for a place at Buryfields, we have a few spaces in each year group; if you are moving to the area and would like to visit or chat with us please don't hesitate to contact us.

Welcome to Buryfields Infant School.
The staff, governors and children would like to wish you a very warm welcome to our school.
