Exploring our school!

Our first half term in Sycamore has flown by!  We have spent lots of time getting to know all our new friends as well as exploring our school and grounds.  We visited our Sycamore tree and had great fun watching the seeds twirl to the ground. We followed a photo trail around the school and now we know where everything is. Our sensory garden and pond are well hidden but worth a visit!  We all love to play on the apparatus on the top and bottom playgrounds too.

Outdoor Learning

Our outdoor classroom has been a perfect environment to extend our learning.  Every day there is a range of activities to help us to use our thinking skills, our creativity and practice our fine and gross motor skills.  Our role play school has been very popular - we can already see some budding new teachers in the making! Super friendship skills and collaborative play are really evident amongst the children which is a pleasure to see.

We all enjoyed our Harvest Assembly and performed the story of The Little Red Hen really well. To help us remember the story we made bread just like The Little Red Hen - this was undoubtedly one of our favourite activities this half term. It was great fun to knead the bread and it was very good for our fine motor skills. The best part was getting to eat the freshly baked bread! We all made windmills and painted pictures of the characters from the story as well.
